Translating a friends tatoo
I need your help with translating my friends tattoo. It's only 2 letters and she wont tell me what they mean
I read the rules and i know this is not a place for this kind of things, but it is just 1 time request and i hope you will help me. I tried to translate it myself using Jishop and some other applications but i couldn't find those symbols in database.
Here is the picture of my friends tattoo:

thanks in forward

It says 自信 (jishin), meaning "self-confidence".

It's just a one time request for everybody. What makes you special?
Never underestimate my capacity for pettiness.

I mostly agree, but this poster wasn't so egregious. They usually want us to translate something ridiculous from English, like Starlit Angel or "Spirit child", which is generally an exercise in pointless frustration. Reading one word, however, is the work of seconds for someone who can speak Japanese, but quite difficult to even look up for someone who can't. And they even came back and said "thanks" quite promptly.
