RE: Looking to Translate Something
Harisenbon-san,
Hello again...I was wondering if you could somehow translate this for me, I wasn't sure if I should PM or not but I thought this might bring some conversation from other members, so here it is:
今こそ翼 羽ばたかせ
誰にも負けない 力で
臆病な今 消せるほど
抱きしめたい Hold Love
気付けば あなたを待っていた
傷付くのが 怖くて
本当は一緒に 居たいのに
チャンスは何度も あったのに
一緒に 居るだけでいいなんて
あの場所に行けばきっと会える
凍り付く涙も 溢れ出す思い
そう 知らずに 君の名を呼ぶ 僕は
愛しい君に 今 会いたくて
どれほど時が 流れれば
凍えた身体 目覚めるの
逃げ道ばかり 探しても
手は届かない TRUE LOVE
あの場所に行けばきっと会える
凍り付く涙も 溢れ出す思い
そう 知らずに 君の名を呼ぶ 僕は
愛しい君に 今 会いたくて
どれほど時が 流れれば
凍えた身体 目覚めるの
逃げ道ばかり 探しても
手は届かない TRUE LOVE
今こそ翼 羽ばたかせ
誰にも負けない 力で
臆病な 今 消せるほど
抱きしめたい Hold Love
Thank you in advance.

no Kanji...Edited.. can be skipped :\ Sorry..
So I had the not so smart idea to ask my friend to write without using Kanji. It would have made more sense for him to write with Kanji because that would help my (very very small) vocabulary. So while I can get some of the words and sentences... the rest I can't find or even figure out where it starts.
Lazy me, but please translate. Thanks!! (entire content present)

EDIT: nprz,
すみません。わたしのにほんごがわるいです。
Even more embarassing, I have been working on these a little bit each day for about a week now. Perhaps I should post on a different forum (like the Grammar one) to discover what よかった、and かったよ mean.
It turns out being completely embarassed by my own laziness is a great motivation to crank those silly wheels in my head and lookup-guess what things mean.
I greatly appologize for waisting time and space on this post.
The rest of my post I translated below.. I can guess the rest (pretty sure he's not professing undying love or anything else).
あえてとてもよかったです。It was very good to meet you.とてもたのしかったよ。It was very pleasant?

Again, I'm sorry for my post.

RE: Looking to Translate Something
Sorry both for being late and jumping into the middle of a conversation. =/ I was busy getting married.
Most of your translations of the second part are correct. I'm going to look at some of the mistakes.
Not a question. "It was very fun."
(会)あいたい means "I want to meet you" Not, "Love." This is why kanji is helpful.
If it was "I want to love you" it would be あいしたい. Also, the はやく there is "quickly." So, "I want to meet you soon" would be a good translation, I think.
たのしみ is a set phrase which means "to look forward to."
れんらくとる is to have communication with someone. So, let's keep in touch.
Your verb is correct, but the subject is the person writing the letter. "I'm waiting" would be a good translation, I think.
As for かったよ and よかった, よかった is the past form of よい, which means good. So よかった would be "It was good."
かったよ is the past form of (something) and よ is an emphasizer. So よかったよ! would mean "It was really great!"
Hope that helps. :D
PS Also, for future letters, I think if you ask him to send you letters with simple kanji, it would be easier to read. You can always look up the kanji by copy-pasting into an online dictionary (such as Jim breen's) and it will alleviate some of the problems with similar words (such as "meet" and "love").
