Chûmon is "order" like "place an order" in a restaurant, not "order" as in "have someone do something." It may be applicable here -- I'm not sure about how Japanese deals with that sort of thing -- but it doesn't seem correct to me.

To me assassination applies to the killing of a public figure. Very few murders are called assassinations.

As So Just Throw A Chair At Me-san suggested 殺し屋 for hitman wouldn't 殺し be a "hit". The yakuza movie title 殺しの烙印 is translated as Branded to Kill in English.

If you see a criminal case in news, these will be common expressions:
殺人を依頼する to ask a yakuza/pro hit man to kill someone
殺人を指示する a leader orders to a member
