水の色は花瓶の色です?
Hi everybody,
This almost seems too easy but I am unsure of the nuance of the sentence structure. I am translating this:
And I come up with this:
水の色は花瓶の色です。
みずのいろはかびんのいろです。
Mizu no iro wa kabin no iro desu.
Yes? Close? Not even? Thanks in advance.

It's certainly a grammatically correct way of expressing that idea. Whether it's the most natural is not something I'm qualified to comment on.
You could also say "The color of the water is the same as the color of the vase": 水の色は花瓶の色と同じです。 (I think you can leave off the second の色 in that sentence, too.)

Thanks furrykef.
If there was a way to shorten it up I would welcome it. But I will work with what I have for now.
