Is this correct?

Postby ダラゴスちゃん » Mon 03.21.2011 12:15 pm

I wrote something on the board, I'm wondering if I wrote it correctly. Excuse my writing, it may be a bit sloppy. I'm not even sure if there's another way to say it. Also, if I wrote this right, the sentence would be true today, but false yesterday :).

Not sure if my camera is clear enough. However, I tried to write:

やった!
わたしは16です!
-ハーリー

I now realize there are some mistakes, such as the ya being slanted right rather than left, and the fact that the katakana ha isn't entirely correct, and that watashi is written in kana.

However, does it make sense grammatically / Is this the correct phrase to use?

With my limited knowledge :sweatdrop: , I can only tell you that this sounds more correct:

私は16歳です。
わたしは16さいです。

( 歳 【さい】 (suf) (1) -years-old )

Also, pay attention to the っ in やった. It isn't supposed to be the same size as the other characters, like yours is. Same with the し, all characters should have about the same dimension, and that particular one is quite noticeably thinner.

Hope this helps. :)

Yeah, the tsu is a bit large and yes, the shi is a bit slim. I did know that, it was indeed quick. Hm, so that's how you said it. It might sound odd if I said that I was number 16.

I said 6? I didn't realize I wrote 6. I thought it was 16.......

Why is the '1' removed?

Nobody said you said 6. They're just making a pop culture reference. :P

(And yes, I got the reference.)

I've never seen it either, I just know the reference 'cause I've seen references before.

It's from an old tv show and it totally reminded me of a kick ass song by Iron Maiden,
