Confused about a sentence

My penpal asked me this question and I'm not sure exactly what it means...
"マエも聞いたけどなんて呼べばいい？"

I've tried to translate it but I'm confused about it.

"[I] also heard before, but what should [you] be called?"
Or something like that. Can someone give me a better translation? I think they are simply asking what to call me(my name), but I'm not sure.

Pretty much, yeah. It can either be taken as "I've heard it before, but what should I call you?" or "I've asked before, but what should I call you?"
