Fumie Suguri interview translation please

Post by tsp_uk » Thu 04.20.2006 12:17 pm

Hi, could somebody tell me what Fumie is saying in general? I'm very curious if she is saying about her ranking?

Here's the link:

It is not working for me. It just kept saying "loading" and has been like this for 30 minutes now. By the way, the two links you posted, aren't they identical?

then search "Fumie Suguri 2006 Torino Olympic [TV] Japanese Interview".

That should definetly work, hopefully.

tsp_uk,

It is still the same video but it seems to be working tonight. I have typed below what (I think) she said.

From the dialogue, it seems that she knew that she had already lost earlier today. I could not make much sense of the reporter (speaking too fast for me) but I do not think rankings are mentioned.

I assume that you can read hiragana and can work out the meanings of the Japanese text yourself.

Also, if anybody feels like "filling in" the red bits which I could not work out, we would be very grateful.

Oracle,

Thank you very much. Just out of interest, are you Japanese yourself?

I listened again and most of it now makes sense, except:
どうでしたか? You have to really turn up the volume to hear the reporter saying this.
メダル I still cannot make this out. The reporter did not speak very clearly.
聞こえていました I still cannot make this out. This time the reporter was speaking too quickly for my ears.

A very difficult listening exercise for me.
