A dub is a person who is given a new name. A sub is someone who does something for someone else.

I thought dub was the President of the United States. Would that make sub the VP?

Q'plah!

I strongly advise you to learn this and use it all the time! At the house where I live, we have little injokes like this. My flatmates don't speak Japanese, but they know a crapload of stock phrases form the anime/Jdrama i make them watch:

joudan ja neee - 'You're kidding' (with annoyingly long emphasis on the neeeee)
nani yatterunda! - 'What are you doing!'
onizuka sensei nani itten desu ka - 'What are you saying Mr. Onizuka' (with a very very sad face on)

Stupid stuff like that haha.

So...it would still make sense as an inside joke between people who know what the heck I'm talking about, but not to use it in everyday conversation as if it were normal?
