What is this?
I recently got some japanese stuff from a friend who's moving. I was able to figure out what most things were but I have no idea what this is used for. I scanned it with the writing. Can anyone translate it? I can't read enough kanji to be able to translate it myself. Arigatou!
Hopefully the image isn't too big/small.

RE: What is this?
I will give it to you in kana as well as a translation:
Inuhariko
furuku ha jibun no kodomo no kao ni nisetetsukuri, omiyamairi no toki ni kodomo no yakuyoke toshite hounou shiteita ga, saikin deha sono hyoujou yutakana tokoro kara kazarimono toshite kateini okareteiru koto ga ooi.
Papier mache dog
In olden days a person would make this to resemble the face of one's own child and then offer it for the child's safety when visiting a Shinto shrine, but nowadays, because of the richly expressive facial features, these are often used as household decorations.
