JLPT4 chat study group

Postby Txkun » Fri 09.08.2006 12:45 pm

On 10th Sept at 20:00(SST) we'll meet to study for 四級団.

Please refer to wagawiki chatroom schedule (Chatroom Schedule) for this event and upcoming.

I posted before on this thread:
http://www.thejapanesepage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4896

Since that was only for 3kyu I created this thread to not generate confusion.

Hello again.

So, that means it would be 8 am for me, right? That sounds great, I'll be there.

楽しみにしています。

it seems like theres 3 times that i have heard: here it says its at 2000(SST,singapore standard time) which is about 10am on the east coast of the US.
but the wiki says its at 2100(JST,japan standard time) which is about 8am on the east coast.(wiki says its 1200 GMT tho.)
SS san said it was at 1800 SST which is 6am east coast time.

would sometime tell which time we are going by?

EDIT: looking in the JLPT 3 study thread it says the JLPT 4 study day is sept.10 18:00SST(6am,east coast time) and this is what i have been told by SS san.

so.. 5 or 7am for me? I think it should be 7 for me and 8am for east coast since time difference is 11 hr between GSM-5 and SST.

@firescorpy: Our time difference is one hour. For you it's one hour earlier (my time zone is GMT-4 and yours is GMT-6 but you're in Daylight Saving Time, right?). That means that the meeting for you is at 7 am.

@randomperson: The meeting is at 12:00 GMT. It was earlier but it was changed.

@Sachi: Are you sure it's 10 am for you? Where in the US do you live? If I did the math right, you must be living in Greenland (GMT-3 +DST). :D

Such a mess with the time zones!

That's what SS-san said in the first place. Later on, Txkun-san wrote:

Txkun wrote (in the 三級-thread):
@tanukisan
would be okay to put forward two hours for you?
So it would be 8am your time and so on for the other timezones?

and later:

Txkun wrote (in the 四級-thread):
On 10th Sept at 20:00(SST) we'll meet to study for 四級団.

So I guess they made an agreement and changed the time?

Exactly. Or 12:00 GMT, which is the same. For all the people doing the math with the GMT: don't forget the Daylight Saving Time if your country/zone uses that.
