I'd like to join the study group as well. I'll try to make it to the meeting tomorrow.
I'm currently working near the end of the Genki I book. Unfortunately I don't have a copy of the Basic Kanji Book handy...

RE: 2007 JLPT 4 kyuu Study Group
So what time is the study group starting? There was mention of a 3:30 CMT start time instead of 4:00... That would be fine with me if its fine for everyone else.
There was mention of Basic Kanji Book too, I don't have that, but I do have 250 Basic Kanji For Everyday Use. I'm assuming they have the same Kanji, just in different order so that shouldn't be a problem.
For other books I have, I have Elementary Japanese, Japanese Step by Step, and Basic Connections Making your Japanese Flow.
I don't know if scanning books is right either, but as long as we're not redistributing them outside of this group, I don't see a major issue.
My level of Japanese right now is Hiragana, Katakana, maybe about 20-30 Kanji, and basic grammar. My vocab. is pretty weak. Well, so is everything else, so I guess I'd say I'm at a very beginner level.
Ok, I think I covered all the topics that were brought up recently in this thread... >_>

It is a five hour difference from CST to GMT.

This website is really useful since it gives you the time for yourself, CST, and GMT.
3:30 in CST will be 8:30 GMT.
tsp_uk - Keep in mind that the UK is GMT+1 at the moment, so that'd be 9.30pm instead of 8.30. (someone correct me if I'm wrong, as maths isn't my strong point, but I'm pretty damn sure
Edit: Also, can some lovely person please point me in the direction of Pandion? ^^;

Thanks, Valatunda. I've got it now.
So, do we need to run a meeting past Clay? Are we making a new conference, or using The Japanese Classroom conference in the chat?

We can't really judge people on that. They can be busy.
Though they can also just be lazy and feeling like giving all the work to the other people.
I wasnt really trying to judge or anything, I just felt like pointing it out.

I think it would be best to create a new conference room if that is allowed.
If it is allowed, who is willing to set it up?

I'll PM Clay now to see if we're allowed to do so. Hopefully he'll reply soon.

Under actions in pandion, there is a link to create a conference room. Are we going to do that or what?

Almost time!
I offer myself to creat a conference room. Though it's pretty basic so anyone could do it easily.
Did Clay answer already? I want to make sure we are allowed to do that.
If not, we can just use the other rooms, they are almost always pretty empty. The only problem would be of people that don't know of this JLPT study group, and would enter thinking it was a normal chat. Would be frustration to have people entering and leaving all the time. (IMO)
Almost forgot... I'll work on the scans of the Basic Kanji Book in case it's alright to give them out.
Edit: Ok, scan for the first lesson of the book are done. It covers 10 kanji. Is the 2nd lesson needed as well?
Edit2: Created a room for the study group. It's possible. I destroyed it now, since i wasn't sure if we are allowed to creat one. But if we are allowed than it's really simple to creat a room.

Since it's almost time and there is no answer, i'll just creat the chatroom. If then it's said that we can not creat one, i'll just destroy it and we'll work on another one.
I'm sure that'd be fine.
