Re: JLPT 2007! Are you taking it?
Hurray! I can finally log in!
I want to thank all for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer my many questions and provide useful guidance with my Japanese studies.
Here is my 成績:
文字・語彙 94/100
聴解 60/100
読解・文法 185/200
Total : 339/400
I was overjoyed with my listening score, I expected only to get 10 or 20 marks for that section. Once again, I especially want to thank Coco-san for being ever so encouraging, helpful and patient. I want to hug hug you and
you.
ここさんのご協力に衷心より感謝申し上げます。 m( 謝意 )m

Enjiさん, Carolineさん, Hiraikotsuさん, SSさん, おめでとうございました! タヌキさんは結果が届くのをまだ待っていますね。 以外、だれが残ってますか?聴解の点数は残る方が35点以下くらいを取らないことについては疑いありません。みんなよくできたんです。

SSさん
やったー!! 嬉しい!
聴解の点数は4級の時より上がっていますね。すばらしい。
合格、おめでとうございます。
(読解・文法が187点だったらどうしようかと思っちゃいました。
)
SSさんの細やかなご配慮がなければ、3級団が続けられたかどうか疑問です。
お礼を言うのはこちらです。いろいろとありがとうございました。
4月になったら、またいろいろ考えましょう。

Hourra,SS,congratulations!
Great score : good to see that your fears about listening did not come through.

Re: JLPT 2007! Are you taking it?
My scores for JLPT4 were:
kanji/vocab: 100/100
listening: 35/100 (I struggle with English listening comprehension even, people believe I have a slight disability that prevents me from understanding spoken languages fully - so this is the score I was expecting, I was relying on other sections to bump me up. /end shameful excuse)
reading/grammar: 129/200
Well, I passed. Just - after less than a year's (or even half a years?) worth of self-study, I think
so I'm pleased.

聴解。。。。。。。94/100
読解・文法。。。177/200
総合点。。。。。371/400
...I just couldn't be happier! Also ranked first among everybody who attended the exam in Bulgaria. It's 3kyu this year for me, so I'd better start studying those kanji

SS san, congratulations on passing L3, and with good scores too.
There is a big gap between L3 and L2 so take it slow and easy if you have a full-time job. I wish you success with your studies in the future.
And special thanks to coco for doing last year's chat as well.

Re: JLPT 2007! Are you taking it?
As for me, I just got my results this morning:
90 + 53 + 170 = 313 (pass)
My listening and reading/grammar scores were much better than I expected. The listening this year was particularly difficult and the creaking window didn't help. The reading comprehension passages made me think that I have suddenly developed dyslexia.
If you remember my previous posts, I had to deliver my application to the SOAS in person because of a postal strike, and literally got it in with 5 minutes before the deadline. At work we were working flat out until the Wednesday before the test. And to top it all, as warm-up on the day, I had to run 1.5 miles from Russell Square to the Vernon Square campus in 30 minutes, without a London A-Z and not knowing the street address of the place - because the test instructions telling me where to go was postmarked two days after the test (I still have the envelope to prove it!). So this was quite an eventful JLPT for me.
Simply put, I don't believe it's all over! No more going through the notes on L1 grammar structures (you are lucky if you see them in real life). It still feels like a dream but it is nice to know that any studying I do in the future would be for my own enjoyment. From now on, I can even decline to watch the programmes I hate (watching J-dramas of relationships and power struggles with all the stupid storylines was pure torture - I do not wish it upon my enemies). At one stage of my life I was considering taking a year out to study in Japan, yet I managed this without even setting foot in the country or leaving work. I have a quiet sense of satisfaction, after setting a goal which I know that I can achieve, and slowly realising it over the last few years.
As a hedging measure, I bet 250 pounds with my parents that I would fail, so unfortunately there is no money left for champagne until the next payday, but I don't think I should be complaining too much about this now.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to coco san, who patiently and painstakingly went through a Japanese book with me last year. Without her (?) help, I probably would not have stood a chance in the reading comprehension and vocabulary questions.

Re: JLPT 2007! Are you taking it?
Everybody: congratulations on passing!
I'm very happy to have passed 3級
Writing-Vocab: 91/100
Listening: 43/100
Reading-Grammar: 180/200
well, the listening results are still twice as good as I expected, since I totally blacked out
And: I'm definitely going to give 2級 a go this year, I'm already working on it very hard. Geez, one quarter of the year has already passed...can you believe that?
@chchan: I loved reading your story. That must have been one stressfull day. I thought even finding your way on Russell Square was a nightmare. Having to go to the other location at the very last moment,...oh boy. Congrats, though!
