CST is GMT-6 (but since it is daylight savings time it is GMT-5 right now)

Actually it will make it 4:30 p.m. I think it should be stated that the meetings start at either 8:30 p.m. or at 20:30 so there is no more ambiguity.


Also here are the time zones I have got so far. These all consider Daylight/ Summer Time.

The study group will meet [utc]Saturday 2007/06/16 20:30[/utc].

To those who don't know, Xurma can't be present at the time of the meetings, so we are trying to change the time. Are there others in these situation so far?

I agree with this. But not 20.30. Most people from USA (speacially younger people) don't understand this system. So i'll put 8.30 pm in the chatroom.

I guess it might be better that Valatuda-san (or Sei-san) create a new thread. And then put the member list on the first post so that you can update the member list easily. ( makes sense?)

meh, put timezone info, and use 24 hour/day format.... the U.S. people need to learn that 20:00 is 8:00 p.m.

and timezone 0 == GMT/UTC timezone... there are people who do live in same timezone as UTC, they are timezone +/- 0, or just timezone 0.

to the east of TimeZone 0 is TZ+1, to the west is TZ-1, but the people who are on the same longitude as Grenwich, England are TZ+0 or TZ-0 or just TZ0.

stick to 24-hr military time, 08:00PM == 20:00. and stick to giving time at UTC, ... it's the only way to give an actual specific time... and learning to understand UTC time is a great benefit to users. years later, they will be able to understand that 22:00 UTC is 10PM UTC and XXX Local Time.

you're learning a foreign language, learning a Universal Time Coordinate System is child's play compared to the difficulty of learning another language.

Wow it never occured to me that I could get recognition of my Japanese knowledge and take the JLPT test until this exact moment. Looks like I'll be taking the 四級 test in December as well^^ I will be attending these meetings to help, and learn a bit as well. I'm sorry I wasn't any help with gathering materials for tomorrow's meeting, but I will definitely help now that I know where this thread is (complete forum noob Σ(・ー・; ) ).
