Logo design for ゆきの物語
Clay is getting ready to have Yumi record a number of chapters from ゆきの物語. He has a sample version of the first chapter up here, but if anyone with more delusions of graphic ability than me wants to post a logo design, or suggest any improvements to the sample chapter template, post them here.

Well, here's something you might like:

That's a really cool idea to record a reading of the story. The sample sounds great.

RE: Logo design for ゆきの物語
Perhaps if you provide more details on the kind of design you're envisioning, you'd have a few more takers (or it could just be everyone's busy right now
). Right now it's like shooting blindfolded in the hopes any design hits the bullseye.
For example:
1. Particular colors you'd like...not like?
2. What you don't want to see (perhaps there are some "cliche'd" images you don't want to use)? You already mentioned one thing you didn't want up there.
3. Do you favor a particular theme? Anime style, sumi-e, print, abstract symbolic mark, minimalism...etc.
4. Looking for something serious, clever, satirical, inspired by a genre, etc.
5. Do you have particular size specifications (in other words, does it need to fit a particular dimension)?
6. What else will it be used for? That way you get the right sort of files.
7. Any other particulars that will help folks who want to submit give you a selection you like.
It may seem a bit bold of me, but although this is being seen as a pro-bono, perhaps if you offer some sort of barter or compensation for folks who "donate"...I imagine they're putting in some time to dole something good out. I don't mean money, but I dunno...a set of flash cards, an honorable mention, Administrator for a week...

RE: Logo design for ゆきの物語
OK, good advice.
For the recording pages, it looks like the current image is 200x200 (hard to tell, since it is in flash). I'd also like a banner version, approximately 400x75, that I could use at the top of my pages. For the banner version, I'd like it to blend well with the parchment background I'm currently using.
Sumie style would be nice. I have a few pictures chosen the Library of Congress archives here and there in the story, some of which are sumie and others paintings.
The artist whose logo is chosen gets to add a bio page to my home page.
Edit: If you want to illustrate a scene from the story, please contact me so we can discuss the details.
I'll check with Clay to see if he wants to offer the artist any additional incentives.

I coordinated with Tspoonami in chat last night, and chose a modification of his original logo:
With coordinated banners:
Tspoonami: let me know how you want your work to be acknowledged on my site.

Would you mind putting (in really small font) 'Tspoonami says: the rosy maple moth (Dryocampa rubicunda) is a North American moth in the Saturniidae family' at the bottom of a random page on the site?
I don't want any actual acknowledgment or anything... It's more fun to have something completely random, and slightly educational.

Ha! That's funny. The logo looks nice. Where is the illustration from?
So... Yuki has a face now.

Done! It's at the bottom of the news archive page

Nicely done --> Rich
In fact, if you are ever bored, find a random Wikipedia article (using the random article button!) and paste the main line of the article after 'Tspoonami says.' That way, you could subliminally fill up the brains of the masses with information...
Don't waste your time on my stupid ideas, though.
I drew it in Paint-tool SAI
Thank you

No kidding! That is impressive. Do you have a tablet or was that using the mouse?
