なぜ is slightly more casual. That's all.
I've been told by two different people that naze was more formal than doushite.

I've actually seen both explanations of なぜ so I don't know which one is right. Golgo 13 says なぜだ! a lot and he's not exactly a bastion of formality, but we all know about relying on manga for language examples.
As for のだ, I would recommend seeking an explanation in a book or (reliable) website; that's hard to explain in just a forum post.

Well, is there a difference between using のだ and から? A time and place for each? Or are they interchangeable?
If only I had more answers than questions...Wouldn\'t that be nice...
