Nobody famous. Just a mannequin of an Edo period copper miner on display inside an old, historical copper mine in Ashio (now part of Nikko), Tochigi Prefecture. I took a day trip up there a couple of days ago and took a few pictures. The mine closed down in 1973 and they lacking any other significant industry in the area they turned a very tiny portion of it into a tourist trap. Our little version of Ruby Falls, but not as nice and without all the signs.

Coincidentally, I just watched a short (46min) movie from 1943, Prairie Chickens, which featured Mike Mazurki. Had no idea he was even in it until I started watching it. Maybe he'll get that hat blocked quicker than I thought.
