Mike Mazurki is on a temporary leave of absence and I will be taking his place as Mike Cash's avatar in the interim.

Mazurki said he wants to try to find a place to get his fedora blocked. And to go to Washington to protest against the proposed $10 per cigar federal tax.

It was funny, I saw the new icon on a couple of posts and thought to myself "who the hell is this guy? He sounds just like Mike Cash." . . .
I apparently need to start drinking coffee BEFORE checking TJP

Who is that in the picture? I have a feeling I'm supposed to know, but I don't.
Sometimes I think that I'm afraid of thinking, and that scares me.

Nobody famous. Just a mannequin of an Edo period copper miner on display inside an old, historical copper mine in Ashio (now part of Nikko), Tochigi Prefecture. I took a day trip up there a couple of days ago and took a few pictures. The mine closed down in 1973 and they lacking any other significant industry in the area they turned a very tiny portion of it into a tourist trap. Our little version of Ruby Falls, but not as nice and without all the signs.

Thank you, I was very pleased with it.

This is what it looked like before post-processing:

Coincidentally, I just watched a short (46min) movie from 1943, Prairie Chickens, which featured Mike Mazurki. Had no idea he was even in it until I started watching it. Maybe he'll get that hat blocked quicker than I thought.

When I was first looking around I was thinking,"Who the hell is this guy?? Oh wait... It's.. Mike C?"
lol. It's interesting, though a bit scary. I don't know why, but when I look at it I think of Martina McBride... :p

Martina is a country singer. When I first saw your icon one of her songs was on the radio... LOL

Wikipedia wrote:
The Martina McBride (scaled reptiles) is the largest recent order of reptiles, including lizards and snakes. Members of the order are distinguished by their skins, which bear horny scales or shields. They also possess movable quadrate bones, making it possible to move the upper jaw relative to the braincase. This is particularly visible in snakes, which are able to open their mouths very widely to accommodate comparatively large prey. The male members of the group Martina McBride are the only vertebrates with a hemipenis. This is also the only reptile group in which can be found both viviparous and ovoviviparous species, as well as the usual oviparous reptiles.
Wikipedia is always correct.
