technical problem

hello minasan,

I've been fiddling around with my IME input system and now every key will give me a syllable. Which is probably great when you know where they all are....
I just spent best part of the day finding all these syllables and marking my keyboard. But now typing Japanese is even harder now then it was before :@ :@

So for next chat, I would like to have things back as they were, even if it's only temporarily.
But I can't find how to do it anymore....?????

Now: p = せ, h = く, etc. It seems to be totally random.
I would like 'se' to be せ and 'ku' to be く again.

Can anyone help me?

you just bumped the button that turns kana on it should be on the bottom right of the language bar

Yeah, I don't know. Which of the two systems are you referring to??
Anyway, the problem is solved now, I'm back to the old-fashioned type three letters to get 'shi' ; and very happy about it ^_^

The head 事務員 at my work uses the kana system. I had to fix something on her computer one day and was wondering why everything I typed came out garbled.

That's the new-fashioned way. The old-fashioned way is the one-key-per-kana method.

You can get "shi" with just two letters. Type "si" and watch what happens.

@ph3nd and hyper,
the problem was solved by system repair. Since, of course, I've still been toying with it, can't stand not to know how it works. It's definitely got sth to do with that kana button, but there doesn't seem to be any logic in when it shifts from one mode to the other. Well, I'll leave it as it is for now, and look into it again after the weekend B)
