I've never seen "sotsuka"... but I won't pretend I know every Japanese word in existance.

I'm betting it's not SOTSUKA (そつか), but SOKKA (そっか) with a small 'tsu'. Perhaps you know "sou ka" (is that right? / oh, I see... / oh yeah... etc). When Japanese speak, they don't always speak in the textbook forms we are familiar with. I think it's a character saying "sokka..."

Yea, そっか is another way of saying そうか. I've also seen そうだ, but that's a bit more colloquial (casual).

そうだ isn't as much casual as it is strong, I believe. Which is why it's not used very much. You would see it in army movies, or hear it from bosses or something. It has a very crisp feel to it as opposed to the softer そうか or the kind of short crisp そっか
