How his resignation affects me. I would have thought that abundantly clear.
Trying to get information. It's interesting that either no one can answer it or that no one cares to try.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and credit that to the "don't care to answer" column, though I have strong suspicions that it belongs in the "can't answer" side of the ledger.
Why would I, or anybody else, be in a position to make definitive statements on your life? If you had asked how it affects me, put me smack dab in the middle of "don't care to answer," but I don't see how I could be anywhere but "can't answer" as for you.

It seems to me that any real discussion of how this affects myself or anyone else in Japan would have to center around how the next PM rather than on the outgoing PM.
I agree wholeheartedly with this, but, Shirley, you can see the cause and effect relationship between Abe's resignation and the coming existence of the next PM.
You're probably not as smart as you think.

Damn, and I thought the two were unrelated.

Birds and missiles? Naw. Hopefully the Japanese prime minister has some effect on these matters though.

I just hope Japan lessens the contact with the US, and focus more on internal problems, instead of being the US' marionettes in a war against nothing.

It is a valid statement. It is just a statement that says I am don't agree in Usa's foreign politics. Doesn't mean I have something against americans as a people, I never stated that.

NocturnalOcean,
Please read the FAQ, which states that:
6: We request that you do not discuss religion or politics, even in the off topic section, in order to reduce needless friction.
This was a post about a news item in Japan. There was no need to bring your own personal views into the discussion.

And please follow standard orthographical practice by capitalizing the names of nations and nationalities. I find that it is people with anti-American feelings who always seem to make a point of typing "american" instead of "American".

NO one reads the FAQ... I think part of being accepted into TJP should be an email with the full FAQ included.
Someone with 153 posts should know better. I mean 153 posts and never understood the FAQ? that's just plain unacceptable.

Sorry for not keeping the FAQ on my wall all the time. I will henceforth remember to capitalize all countries, and at the same time keeping my postings according to the FAQ. Thank you for your humble guidance.

Letting these kind of threads exist is just
plain unacceptable. Newsitem about a politician
(high ranking in this case) naturally draws the
attention to politics. It asks for trouble and shouldn't
exist in the first place. There was politics talked in
this thread before nocturalocean said anything. It
was only when an unpopular opinion was said that
the FAQ trump card played.

Talk about Japanese politics and religion is allowed (though even that gets a bit heated at times), and what was going on before nocturnalocean spoke up.
I'm locking the thread, since it seems unlikely to get back on topic.
