AT last, an unambiguous economic indicator from Japan; golf is on the up.

The Nikkei Daily, which tends to follow these things for the benefit of its business readership, reported yesterday its survey of major Japanese courses showed attendances in the year to March 30 rose 2.5 per cent, following a 2 per cent increase in 2005. ......

like most niche information, this will affect a niche group of people. those outside the niche will either care less or be slightly interested. either way.. I wonder if this will cause a huge increase of "golf" manga's across japan like it did in the late 80's/early 90's

I wish the prices dropped with the "increase"

At ７５００円 a week for a round of 18 at my local short course for hacks, I'd be enjoying my golf a whole lot more...

Last time I went out, it was about $20. I was still in high school, though. I just looked up a course near home (the course is in Temperance, MI, USA) and the regular adult rate for M-T is $36 including a cart, or $44 on weekends. I usually do a 9 hole course, with a $16/$18 green fee, without a cart, or $24/$26 with a cart.
