What about the name Kelsey? Would it be Kelseu? Or something else?

Probably KE RU SHI (ケルシ) or maybe KE RU SHII (ケルシー) if you'd like a long "ee" sound at the end of your name.

while i was in japan this summer, a nice japanese woman wrote my first name with kanji. you can see it on the splash page of my website. (the rest of my website is, unfortunately, down indefinitely.)

マリアス (Ma ri a su): Marius (if it's pronounced Ma-ree-us)
トネ (To ne): Tone (if it's pronounced Toe-nay)

Tone, then: トニ (for a long ee sound: トニー) (Romaji: Toni / Tonii)
Cherie: シェリー (Alexis is wrong, there is a 'che' sound-- this is "Che ri-)
Alexis Saldaña: アレクシス・サルダニャ (Arekushisu Sarudanya -- yeah, you were right about yours)

This is just a note, but if you have a Biblical name, your name can be directly translated (for the most part) because the Bible has been translated into Japanese.

Suggestion: トゥネ (Note that a small ウ is used).
