Going to Sasebo (^_^)

Hey everyone! I'm new to the site, but I wanted to reach out to anyone that might be in the Sasebo or Nagasaki area. Just trying to find out what there is to do for fun out there. Mostly wanna hit the clubs, karaoke bars, and sushi stops. It would be nice to know where I can find a book off and major shopping mall type spots. Arigatou B)

There are no Book Off locations in Sasebo.

What I heard from quite a few (non-American) foreigners who have lived in that area is that many Japanese people living there aren't really too fond of Americans due to the fact that there's an army base nearby, and apparently the soldiers haven't always behaved too well. So these people I know would be ignored or not treated too well until they told the Japanese that they in fact weren't American (soldiers) and after that the attitude of the Japanese changed completely.

Edit: Oh, and have some Sasebo burgers!

Army base? In Sasebo? I don't think so; so far as I know, it's a naval base. I doubt you'll find many soldiers there (though sailors are certainly capable of causing problems out in town, and causing ill-will among the locals.)

Ah, well it could be a naval base too... something military at least :p
