Study Group (Beginners and Upper-Beginners)
RE: Study Group (Beginners and Upper-Beginners)
I had to leave the last study group early last Saturday. Were there any assignments, ideas, etc?
RE: Study Group (Beginners and Upper-Beginners)
I'm not going to attend after all. 8AM Saturday is a little too early for me, and I signed up for a Japanese course in which I'm supposed to have some access to tutoring staff.queshaw wrote:
I used this web page:

to figure the time zone conversion. I gather I'm at GMT-7 (USA PST (or PDT, I don't know if this is the absurd daylight savings time now or not)), so I think 3PM GMT is 8AM Saturdays for me.
I should be able to attend next week. It seems like it will be good to force me to study.

Just wanted to inform everyone that tomorrow I will not make it to the meeting.
The study group still stands for tomorrow though. Everyone should come and take doubts you have or so. I'd like if a post was made after it though, so everyone knows what was discussed in the meeting.

We basicliy practiced around some. For next week we oughta look up some rules about particels and when to use them. Denus was especcially interested in when to use ni concerning time.
So for next week find usefull info about when to use particels like wa ga ni e he wo o and if you find good study materials about it be sure to post it here and let's practice some next week.

At the poster above tanuki plz don't use l33tsp34k with 3xt3reme amount of spaces and emoticons _0 in youre post in a forum. extreme use of leetspeak and emoticons should only be used in msn conversations and in gaming.
anyway I hope you guys are all going to show up this week. And let's try to do some grammar around particels like when to use ni and e when talking about traveling to somewhere.

What is weird is that the group chat is created already... and a section in the forum? I don't get it...
Anyway, see you all saturday. If I can stay sober I'll go!... Just joking... :p

RE: Study Group (Beginners and Upper-Beginners)
Ok, quick announcement. I won't be able to make this meetings as well. Have a research work to do and only time available between me and my collegues was saturday afternoon, which makes it impossible for me to go to the meeting.
This reason was why I wanted to set another moderator for the room besides myself. My course is heavier than I thought and I have plenty of work to do only after a week it has started... So I think I might not be able to go a lot.
Hopefully the meetings have been doing well.

Behhh I say we will miss you we could have used some structure.
If only somebody willing to teach would arive out of nowhere and give us a helping hand.
Edit seems like im going to bate late today or i might not even be back in time before it ends so don't wait up for me.

RE: Study Group (Beginners and Upper-Beginners)
I'd like to join if I can.
RE: Study Group (Beginners and Upper-Beginners)
MadeyeMike as far as i know anyone can join, sei is the one who organised this meeting..
If you want to join you can come at 4 PM GMT+1 in the chat, you can find information on how to connect here: http://www.thejapanesepage.com//readart ... cle_id=208
Btw... sorry i missed yesterday's meeting, but i practiced hiragana all week, hope you won't hate me for missing so many meetings...
[Edit]
I also should thank Ph3nd, he gave me a link to a story... "The Story of Momotarou" and i made it from hiragana to romaji with very few mistakes, i also understood many kanji. So many thanks to Ph3nd.. i printed that story and took it to school, i have some classes when i pretty much do nothing, and i started practicing then.
