FreeRice.com

Post by Hatori » Tue 11.13.2007 10:28 pm

Hello! Anyway, in my ancient civilizations class, our teacher showed us this awesome new website! It's called freerice.com and you don't have to give ANY money to donate! All you have to do is answer vocabulary questions and a sponsor (such as Macys, Toshiba, Mac, etc.) will donate ten grains of rice per question you answer correctly!
This is a legit website and will help people in foreign countries get at least some sort of food source and is a good cause! I just thought spreading the word would help this cause and I do hope you try to answer as many questions as you can!
I know only ten grains is not enough for a meal, but you can answer as many questions as you want with no time limit!
Thanks for reading! Help others!

Looks like a really good idea. If it really works I won't have to worry about knowledge of hi-level english vocabulary from now on ;).

Interesting concept. I wonder if it really works. I have reviewed some words which I have not used in the longest of times. Thanks for the link, Hatori.

Hats off to the people who can reach level 50. For me the going gets tough at 43.

I got to level 36 and then I started to die a bit. I answer a few questions every once in a while and it's just something to do on your freetime.

Suffix problem noted ;). Anyways, it seems once I get to around 38-42 I'm just making educated guesses based on Latin roots and things like that.

Now that is a dangerous site, it took me one and a half hour before I could quit after starting clicking. It's something with tricky vocabulary questions that is strangely appealing. Never got beyond 38, though.
