practical question about JLPT

So, the last of the JLPT information has arrived today.
There will be 260 Level 3 students in London this year. That's a lot more than I expected!
I noticed you're only allowed to bring a pencil, a sharpener and an eraser.
which brings me to my question:
are you allowed to make notes during the listening tests?
Do they provide paper for that?

Otherwise I'll find myself forced to scribble on the exam papers ^_^
My memory span is definitely shorter than 10 years ago....

Acording to another site, you are aloud to note things on the paper.
