母語は?what´s your mother tongue?
RE: 母語は?what´s your mother tongue?
希臘語(ギリシャ語)です。
Greek.
And I can sympathize. It's really annoying to have to learn a foreign language using material written in yet another foreign language. Thankfully, my English skills are at a decent level, but its still frustrating.

My native language is English, and I'm American. But, you should remember that not all the English speakers here are from the U.S. We have people from Canada, the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand, too.
Some of us may have our locations slightly masked, too.

Might want to re-read it, but the HTML is stripping out spaces from between the two groups.

Russian. But I study Japanese using English more, I don't like Russian "Romaji" of the Japanese.
But I use one Russian book to study Japanese, but it is using only hiragana and katakana. Well Kanji too, of course.
I live in USA for more then 6 years, so I guess I can call English my "mother tongue" too....

My mother tongue is Afrikaans. I am also studying Japanese through English text books - I doubt whether any has been written in my native language yet

Well, if you consider the official languages of a country as that country's native language/s, the following are South African mother tongues:
English, Afrikaans, IsiNdebele, IsiXhosa, IsiZulu, Northern Sotho, SeSotho, Setswana, SiSwati, Tshivenda and Xitsonga

Nah, I live approximately 250km south-east of Pretoria

When I think of English speaking countries, I always forget South Africa.
Always.
Always.
