anyone got any rules to conjugate GROUP 1 verbs into ~te for
hiyas =)
My textbook has a short table of examples of group 1 verbs being changed from ~ます into ~て form, but not enough for me to notice the pattern. They also don't explain it either. Anyone have a few pointers?
Thanks in advance!~

Hey, group 1 has the verbs with all the different endings, right? Basically, it goes like this:
any verb ending in
く → いて; eg. 書く → 書いて
ぐ → いで; eg. 急ぐ → 急いで
ぶ・む → んで; eg. 飛ぶ → 飛んで ・ 飲む → 飲んで
う・る → って; eg. 言う → 言って ・ 帰る → 帰って
す → して; eg. 話す → 話して
I think that's all of them. They're exactly the same as the plain past form if you know those, except you're using て instead of た. hope this helps!

Yea, it's also good to remember that if there's a ぜんぜん on the kana (with the exception of む although I think that little line could counut) then the て form likewise has a ゼンゼン.
XD At this sig.

There's a little song I was taught:
u, tsu, ru, -tta
mu, bu, nu -nda
ku -ita, gu -ida
su -shita~
(the TA just becomes TE)
But since you can't hear me singing, it might be hard to imagine... >_>

I learnt a song:
minasaaan minasaaan
te form wo oboemashou
i chi ri tte
mi bi nde
ki ite gi ite
shi shite
You'll get the hand of it. Also, nu becomes nde. shinu > shinde
