IME symbols
When typing in Japanese using IME I accidently came accross some cool symbols. For example, I tyed in まる it came up with these 円, ○, ●, 〇 and then I tried ばつ just to see what happened. This is the symbol I found ×
Next ほし 〜 ☆、★、※、*
I assume there are many more of these symbols. Can anyone tell me what they are and how to get them?

RE: IME symbols
If you want to add any more symbols, words or emoitcons to your IME, you should find 'register words and examples' under the tools menu. There you can paste any unicode symbols and set them to whatever input you want. Some useful ones you should have already should include things like ♀(めす) and ⇒(みぎ).

Probably not useful to people outside Japan, but one I like is:
