RE: Free Translation
OK, done that. What next?
In English it is better to say that "iyaku" is "liberal/loose translation" rather than "free translation". "Free translation" sounds like you are offering a no cost translation service

Don't complain to me that people kick you when you're down. It's your own fault for lying there

RE: Translation with Expression
Maybe "Translations of expressions" is more what you are after.
BTW ぜったいれいど (絶対零度) would be "absolute zero" (zero degrees Kelvin) to me not "sheer cold".

RE: Translation with Expression
In case anyone's wondering what this is all about, they are asking if we agree with the official translations for these pokemon moves.
If people don't know what you're asking them to do you won't get as useful responses.
I don't think it's really an important question as it doesn't really matter how close the English name for the moves is to the Japanese, just how well it fits the move itself. You'd be better off giving a description of the move and asking if it's an appropriate name. But please don't do that here.

Again with the pokemon! Here's my guess, if this dude is over the age of 14, then he's one of those guys who bought two Nintendo ds's so he can trade pokemon with himself, and goes to conventions to play the card game only with the childen who dressed most like Ash. I'm not gonna lie, I play pokemon from time to time, and it is not bad as far as RPG video games go. This, however, is either borderline insanity or an elaborate joke.
I want a clever signature, but I spent all my time trying to come up with a clever post!

Sometimes I think that I'm afraid of thinking, and that scares me.

RE: Translation with Expression
That would definitely help your reputation with this forum. However, it's incredibly obvious that you have an interest with Pokemon. That's not a bad thing, but I highly suggest you register at a Pokemon forum. They would be more than willing to chat about Pokemon with you. I don't actually know of any good forums for Pokemon but maybe somebody here does; and if not, there's always google. However, we don't really mean to chase you off. It's just that immediately starting 3 threads about Pokemon and nothing else comes across as spam. Like most internet users, the most of us hate spam.Bossu wrote:
