where is the most snowy city of Japan?

is there a city like this, with lots of snow activities like snowboarding and skiiing?

But with not many tourists?

According to Lonely Planet, or what I remember without checking, Asahikawa, in Hokkaido, is the city with the longest time of snow, as well as the most industrial one... but there did not seem to be a lot of skiing activites when I was there, in July. So, I can't answer!
But there are a lot of ski resorts in Hokkaido.

I was on Hokkaido towards the end of March and there was still plenty of snow.

where there is snowboarding and skiing, there will be tourists. it's part of the alure of a ski resort to attract tourists.

as for snowy cities. anything North of Aizuwakamatsu particularly in the Aomori region (Tohoku prefecture)and north of that on the main Island and Hokkaido will have lots of snow.

look up yuki matsuri (snow festivals) and the cities that have those will inevitably be the cities with alot of snow.
