How do I pronounce "いい"?

Hi, I am still learning hiragana and I'm almost finished but because I am learning from a book I have no how two syllables of the same sound are pronounced.

Is this pronounced "I I" ( 2 sounds)

or just a long I? ( 1 sound)

ok not what i was think of, but take me word for it, it is pronounced 'ee' as just one long sound, there is not breaks in any of the words. pronounce all of the characters straight after each other.

Remember though, that とお or anything ending in an -o and followed by an お is pronounced twice, so 盾ﾂ（とおつ）would be pronounced to-oh-tsu

Are you sure 盾ﾂ is a word? I have never heard it before. I thought for counting ten, it was just とお.
