Japanese language learning statistics
Hi all,
Would anyone happen to know a good source of information on trends in Japanese language learning? I'm working on a project and would like to know the numerical trends in Japanese language learning (for non-Japanese people, of course) over the last 10-15 years. How many people are studying it, what their reasons might be, etc.
I've googled around and am not even sure what organization would be good for research. I can ask a librarian but thought I'd check here as well.
Thanks in advance!

RE: Japanese language learning statistics
Maybe these pages can help a little:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_language#Study_by_non-native_speakers
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_Language_Proficiency_Test#Results
if you don't know them already...
