LOL. This may sound mean, but it makes me laugh to think that someone is trying to get this answered on a forum XP
Why does this surprise you?
The mice asked Deep Thought to give them the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything, and it took 7.5 million years for it to spit out 42.

Well, there you have it. The meaning of life is 42, any more questions?
Edit: A question of my own.... If > or < 42, does that mean the universe will implode? Will Kentucky implode?

No, that's the answer to the ultimate question. Don't forget that Earth was designed to determine what the ultimate question was after a 10 million year (IIRC) program, that the Golgifrinchans screwed up.

People often cite the "42" answer.
One interpretation put forth is that it equals the number of spots on a pair of dice....sort of Adams' way of saying life is a crap shoot.

I agree with Kimberly, I had no really Idea that it was a major power...yes I am that oblivious towards nations and all that shnazz. I like Japan because of the culture, and the language, along with Korea, China and Taiwan.
But anyway onto the subject of the thread, I think that there is a meaning to life only if you want it to be. Only you yourself can find a meaning in it. Create it or borrow it, either way, because it's a gift and it's yours. Though don't take my word for it for I am sure there are many theories out there, and I firmly believe there is no right or wrong answer to that question.

We're all familiar with the old axiom about the unexamined life not being worth living.
Cash's Corollary: The overly examined life is too depressing to live.
Strive for a happy medium.
