冗談

Postby kenpachi » Tue 08.23.2005 7:18 pm

Anyway

I'm not very good at writing in Japanese so I hope you don't mind me practicing.
Let me know what I do wrong. Thank You.
Also please feel free to join in and let's have fun.
As you can tell I am not funny. Also what I wrote in english above can someone translate? Thank you. Is 冗談 the right word? Haha.

Thank you for correcting me.
I wish I knew more jokes both in english and not.

I'm not sure heh.
Thanks for the translation. There's a lot of it I don't know but it's good to study.
I don't think I'll be learning any jokes or writing in japanese again until I learn more of the language haha or at least kanji. Anyway thanks for replying and answering my question. You're very helpful.

Is that a random side note? What caused you to post that?

I think a better english translation would be "That's not funny."

Both meanings would work. It depends, like so many things, on the context.

About how long/to what extent is "about" in America (?)
Yea, that's true, the Tokyo Dome is...
Huh?
...About 1 minute from the other Tokyo Dome?

I get lost in the last part, although I did notice that 一方 is close to 一歩 in sound.

Q: Your American Apartment's about's width?
I think the word order is wrong.

My, aren't we getting nitpicky.

I guess not only do Japanese all look alike, they're supposed to all talk the same way without any variations.

Oops, better make it "not only do all Japanese look alike . . ."

Actually the second time I read it, I accidently read an extra の in it, which I didn't read the first time. My mistake about that.
Adding a comma in there after アパート would have made it clearer.

Japanese don't look alike at all, it's just hard to tell who someone is talking about when they say black hair, dark eyes and short.

Feel free to say anything however you wish, provided the reader can make sense out of it (I didn't have a problem the first time, and the second time was just because I misread it).

Here's one I like.
If:
木 is き
and
森 is もり

what is 森森?

...

Now, not to put a damper on your topic, but Golgo what is your problem? Are you Japanese and think we're all stereotyping Japan and get offended at every little thing? Or are you just being nit-picky and overly rude?

Did you even read what Golgo replied to? It was nprz who nit-picked the Japanese of a Japanese person. I think your authority on this board is going to your head, spaz.
