Search problems. :(
It seems I've found another bug...
A search for "suite" turns up nothing and a search for "phreadom" only turns up 3 posts from the last week or so.
However, take for instance the thread at viewtopic.php?f=10&t=7767 contains both of those words and doesn't show up in the search. I know there are others as well that aren't showing up.
Is the search only searching new posts and not any of the ones imported from the old site?

Re: Search problems. :(
Is that the site wide search or the phpBB search? I've had trouble getting the Druapl search to cron right. This means it isn't updating automatically.
I will have Joe look at this. He seems to be busy and hasn't done much this past week...

The phpbb search specifically. I haven't tested the other one really.

Hmmm... That should work. Well, it may have a cron problem too.
The Drupal search is not working currently. I have a developer with that on his 'to-do' list.

The phpbbs search seems to only search posts since the move, not the imported posts.

Correct.
I don't have time tonight to dig through the phpbb stuff tonight to see if I can get an idea why it's happening (by looking at my local copy). If nobody gets to it by tomorrow I'll do it then. (I seem to vaguely remember reading something about how the search function etc worked.)

Sorry, I can't get to the admin (for phpBB) until Joe in Australia fixes my clay account...

Re: Search problems. :(
Ahem... This came up in 2 of my searches (haven't yet been able to make a successful one):
This was after I tried adding another word.
Note I made an advanced search, with only a few forums selected, and with "Topics only" selected...
I like to search around old topics for particular themes... If this happens, it makes it impossible... Hope it's just a tiny problem that can be solved. ^^
- Code: Select all
Information
The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: kanji.
You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 3 characters and must not contain more than 14 characters excluding wildcards.

Re: Search problems. :(
Thank you Phreadom-san for fixing it.
I had been using the s1524 site to search something posted before the move. So it became very convenient.
---
Sei-san, I had put 初め. Then got this
Then did put 鼻, 今日 and TJP
Would you mind if I asked the word that you tried?

Re: Search problems. :(
It said above coco-san. I used "Kanji" in the first search and when it didn't work I tried "kanji words", that still didn't work.
I have successfully made some searches now. Even with "Genki" (there are so many things about it) it worked. So it's strange it doesn't allow me to do that search with "kanji" or even "kanji words"...

Re: Search problems. :(
Sorry
I thought that it says "They are too common words/ kanji words."
As you said, it seems that "Kanji" and "Hiragana" are NG words.
Katakana works though.
I got 59 with using http://www.thejapanesepage.com/search.php
This may work.

Re: Search problems. :(
Thank you coco-san. ^^
I was mentioning it more because since I never had any problem like this before, I thought it might actually be something that could be fixed or so.
Anyway, I'll use the old site and google then (I never had thought of it like that... Thanks again! ^^)

Re: Search problems. :(
True. ^^
But gives different results I guess, since it's actually barely ever used.
