Good textbooks for korean?

Postby Xurma » Sat 03.15.2008 4:51 pm

Hello.

My friend is going to be an exchange student in South Korea next year, and she's looking for some good resources for learning the korean language.
I saw this one textbook in http://www.thejapanshop.com, but don't know alot about it.
So if anyone here knows some good textbooks for korean, can you please inform about it. :) I would appreciate it.

どうもありがとうございます、 私の友は韓国語を勉強したい。
Anyway thanks :D

Here are the two books I use for studying the Korean language.

1) Elementary Korean by Ross King (Author), Jae-Hoon Yeon (Author)
2) Continuing Korean by Ross King (Author), Jaehoon Yeon (Author), Insun Lee (Author)

If your friend is just beginning out with the Korean language, I suggest learning the Korean alphabet first. (I say alphabet because there aren't that many as the English alphabet) There are many sites that can help her out with the basics. Once she gets that down then it would be a good time to purchase the two books if you like. I can guaranteed that no book will be 100 percent satisfying, but should help you out tremendously without spending so much for a class.

The books can be found at http://www.amazon.com and others book stores.

If you would like to talk more about the book or about other sites that is helpful to you pm me through here.

Wish your friend the best in her studies.
