Another question...
(I can't write in hiragana at this terminal, but I can ask anyway)
you wrote sushi as osushiwo, (four characters instead of 2)
Is there a reason why the longer one is more correct? I found the
two character spelling on the hiragana page for "su". Just curious.
doumo!
Oh, that's because when the Japanese refer to some things to eat or drink (like "mizu") they attach "o-" in deference to that object. So, 水(みず)becomes お水 (おみず)and 寿司(すし)becomes お寿司(おすし).
The "wo" on the other hand is a grammatical particle meant to mark it as a direct object of the verb "aishimasu". (Just like the "ga" in the other sentence, but it doesn't mark it as a direct object in that case).

I think it would be better if you said: ありがとう、Takeruさん。日本語(にほんご)は出(で)ています!Which roughly means "Thank you, Takeru-san. Japanese (characters) display (literally, "[are] coming out") now!"
てがみ means "a letter" (as in snail mail), by the way.

It's the literal translation of what I posted. You meant to say that you have Japanese characters already, right? So, by saying 「日本語は出ています。」, you're saying that Japanese characters are displaying properly now.

Sorry, but on this computer I can't write or read Japanese. Does anyone here like Gakuto-san, Morunin Musume, X Japan, L'Arc-En-Ciel, or any other Jpop/Jrock artists? I'd love to hear from you!
Like I said before, my Japanese isn't very good. I used to be able to speak it fluently, but it's become terribly rusty over the years with disuse. Gomen nasai!
Jaa ne.
