Word Game

I have a new, fairly difficult kanji riddle, but first I thought I would start with a little appetizer for practice. This is a simple little なぞなぞ。

店に入って、飲み物のサイズが「中」と「大」しかなかったら、なんという？


Now for the main riddle: You find a treasure chest that, from the weight and sound, you believe is filled with gold coins. It is locked and there doesn't seem to be a key. On the chest is the following note:

「次の道具を使ってあけなさい:
『金と金をたして』」

What should you use to unlock the treasure chest?

For the second riddle; the answer is in kanji, and everything you need is in the short phrase ｢金と金をたす｣.

Am I correct if the word I'm thinking of does not have two equally sized 金s and the addition seems to be too long ?

SHOOT. I never really knew all that many kanji to begin with (as a missionary, it was mainly kaiwa and a few religious kanji to help when teaching) so, these Word Games are really difficult. Half the time, I am still trying to the original meaning.. lol

Riddle 1. "There isn't a small size, so I'll have to settle for a medium or large."
