I just noticed the old way of creating spoilers with [spoiler][/spoiler] doesn't work anymore....
Is there another way to create them?

There's probably a PHPBBS mod that Phraedom can add.

You could always just color the text white so that you can't see it until you highlight it. Like this:
Imagine this is a spoiler of some sort...

Added in the functionality for in-line spoilers and the spoiler box. You'll find the new buttons along with the others when you go to post.

The good point about the earlier spoilers was, that you could add a lot of text that wouldn't necessarily eat up the whole forum.
With the new spoiler, you still use up as much room as the text would, only it's all grey.....

No... unless you have Javascript disabled. If so, that's your fault.

With javascript enabled, when you use the box method (and not the in-line method), you get one thin line that expands to show the spoiler information when you click "Reveal".

What browser are you using, and do you have Javascript disabled for some reason? It works perfectly fine here and I even explicitly set it to collapse the spoilers because I wanted the same feature you do, where it doesn't show the box until you click the "reveal" button.

Notice the difference between the top and the bottom, before and after I clicked the "Reveal" button. The box appears and shifts the content down. You need Javascript enabled for this functionality.

I think it depends on which spoiler you use, but the one on the right seems to do the job. And you can hide the text again.

Yeah, I considered just removing the in-line spoiler, or making the spoiler tags only display like the box form.

Do you think it's too confusing to have 2 options for the spoilers?

ehm, well, personally I think one kind of spoiler is enough.
Apparently nobody missed it until now, so the need is not that big.

Well, it's going on the back burner for now... but when I get a chance I'll look at rolling the two together into one... so that the inline box syntax will create the collapsible box and that will be it.

I don't see any reason to have 2 spoiler buttons etc, or need a title on the spoiler box. It's just added complexity we can do without.
