Where do you find the Genki Textbook?
I have looked for it at bookstores yet, I cant find it for some reason, should I order it off the internet, or is there somewhere else I should look?

You will likely not find it at bookstores. Bookstores usually have very limited textbook selections. Online is your best bet; you may even be able to get it used from ebay or amazon marketplace.

I recently purchased the Genki text and other related materials by following the Bookstore link right here on TJP (see it up there, in the grey banner?). That link takes you to The Japan Shop, an affiliate of TJP. The prices were competitive and the selection was quite extensive.
In addition, I was surprised and delighted with how quickly I received my texts! I ordered on a Friday night and had my materials by that following Wednesday or Thursday (can't remember which, but I know it was fast). And that was with regular, not express, shipping.
I recommend them without hesitation. I am a very satisfied customer and will be ordering from them again.

If you don't like ordering things on the internet, you can look into university/college bookstores. Some only let students shop at them, but some are open to everyone. You have to call and ask, of course, but it is worth looking into. And, if you're lucky, they may even be able to order a textbook from another affiliated store (if say, that campus doesn't even have a Japanese course or their course doesn't use Genki, etc).

Also, any bookstore should be able to order books for you.

I bought mine at http://www.thejapanshop.com, most online places especially amazon, overprice the genki textbooks. Also, buying it from many mainstream bookstores can be costly as well. Be sure you compare all the options and prices.

Funny enough I got mine through amazon.com and I think it was thejapanshop.com that hosted it and I bought it through.

You might want to rethink this post, considering this site makes money by selling these books.

Sorry. It's just the only way to get the textbooks living in my country.
And I use it.

I find that hard to believe.

Hmmm... There are only two countries we (theJapanShop.com) don't ship to online because of a high level of fraud. Even then individual customers can contact us for other payment arrangements. In other words, you CAN get the book from us or elsewhere on the internet.
Just because your local bookstore doesn't carry a certain book doesn't give you the right to resort to thievery.

I wouldn't mean that it is absolutely impossible. Yes, it's a matter of time and money. But it requires veeery different amounts of time and money compared to what you need to spend living in the US in order to get those Genki books. The same applies to many other books I read, that I would never buy.
P.S. This discussion became offtopic.
