What do you mean? You were automatically in the chat, or that you were logged into the website without having to put in your username and password?

More details please. :)

Okay, I think I understand how the chat works now.
When I'm logged in here, I can enter the chat room automatically without having to put my username and password.

Flashchat is just a flashy chat program.

Is that the function that allows one to mouse over a kanji/character and see the defintion in english, hiragana, etc?

One thing I don't like as much about the web chat is that if you go do something else for several minutes it disconnects you. I can probably up the timeout on it to "fix" that... but it's one thing that I prefer Jabber for. I tend to go work on other things for awhile and then come back to read what I missed. The other thing I like about Jabber is logging... I'm a packrat and log all my chats. :P
