My uncle-in-law is a fifth-dan Go player. I play with him every other weekend or so, and it's sad.
It's like a cat playing with a mouse. Just when that poor rodent thinks he's gotten away, the cat yanks it back.
Just when I think I'm about to take a piece of territory, he wins the game.

RE: GO, ancient Japanese board game
Here is a nice Go story. I was recently in the army but now am out. When I was in Golf company for my outprocessing I was so bored that I made a Go board out of index cards and tape and all the pieces out of more index cards. I taught some people how to play and then we held little tournaments between ourselves. I was the champion and everyone else except one guy really sucked. It helped pass the time more than waiting for the drill sergeants to come yell at us for sleeping. Various other things I did to pass the time was spreading the word of Japan and its many glorious and wonderful stereotypes and culture facts. That includes general facts, language, anime, and other stories i've heard or know about. By th eend of the time there everyone knew well how i was obsessed with japan and was used to it.
