Clay, Yumi, and Makoto are off to Japan
Well, almost. We will actually leave in the morning, but I am about to pack up this computer and turn off my cable internet so I thought I'd make a post before doing that. Be back online in a few days in Japan (at least, according to the plan).

よい旅行をね
Don't complain to me that people kick you when you're down. It's your own fault for lying there

Thanks all!
We arrived safely last night. Makoto was surprisingly VERY good. During the 26 hour journey, he only acted up once and that was at the beginning of the trip.
Hey, we have a spare room for you here, if you'd like to join us in Fukui

Clay, if you and your family have any plans to come down to Kyushu, drop me a line. And if you don't have any such plans, I think you ought to make them.

As a fellow Kyushu proponent, I also think you should go visit Oyaji. I'm sure we could find you excellent sites to see. I'm not sure where Oyaji is, but I have a certain affinity for 吉野ヶ里歴史公園, as it was my train stop!
Now that summer's coming, I'm getting nostalgic for the sticky summer Kyushu weather. As soon as it gets sticky and hot here, I'm sure I'll think otherwise.

Really?! Will you be near Fukui City?

I'm afraid I'm a little limited on transportation but that would be nice. We are at Yumi's parent's mercy regarding car time. (They live in the inaka) I've only been to Fukuoka, but I'd love to see more of Kyushu.
I'd like to travel, but we kind of decided to play the hermit for $$ reasons. Actually it is more currently for ¥¥ reasons. But... four months is a long time. I may get restless.

Well, if you ever do make it to Kyushu, I'd love to show you around.

Thanks!
We got a two week JR pass once and had a lot of fun tramping around Japan. If we do that again, I'll definitely take you up on that offer.
