Japanese Learner, anyone who could help?
Konichiwa! I am English, and hoping to learn Japanese! I would really like to learn Japanese. I like learning new words, and in return I can also help you learn English if you do not know so much. I want to know how to clearly pronounce all the letters and such. It would be really cool to learn Japanese... hmm, like having a lauguage buddy!
To demonstrate some Japanese, I will count 0 to 21. Rei, ichi, ni, san, yon, go, roku, nana, hachi, kyu, ju, ju-ichi, ju-ni, ju-san, ju-yon, ju-go, ju-roku, ju-nana, ju-hachi, ju-kyu, ni-ju, nu-ju-ichi... And I also realize that (I think it is 4 & 7) two numbers can be said in another way.

haha, same here.
I'm a total noob when it comes to conversing with others in Japanese, though I did my own research into the language through all the animations, games and movies I have burried myself. The words just won't come out, I guess.
Thus I was hoping to find a way to get the "Speak Jap" switch on in my brain somehow. Help is greatly appreciated.

Did I get it correct? =/

That's not the way to learn a language -- there's no magic switch that just enables you to use everything you've seen. Beginners learn little to nothing from anime, movies, games, etc. What you have to do is get a textbook or take a class and practice, practice, practice until you're tired of practicing, and then practice some more.

After your first year of studying Japanese (unless you're really dedicated) You'll probably be able to understand only the very most commonly used words. It does take time and dedication.

I've never in my life met anyone who can speak Jap, and as far as I know nobody on this site speaks Jap either.
Never underestimate my capacity for pettiness.

I agree Mike-san. But then I have also never met anyone who wanted to have a conversation with a 南瓜.
Aeonlight-san, the problem you have is that the switch you are looking for in your brain is incorrectly labeled. I suggest you read the FAQ, paying particular attention to Forums item 3, before further postings on this site
Don't complain to me that people kick you when you're down. It's your own fault for lying there

This is an introduction thread, we welcomed the guy and had some fun. If you have questions, make a thread of your own in the appropriate section. Although, after this display of bitterness and judgmental attitude, I imagine the number of people willing to help you out has become somewhat smaller.
