Learning from the shoutbox
Allrighty, instead of fouling up the shoutbox, I figured I would work through this here.
Here is what I started with:
わたしわベルがじょぞするまして。
I realize my first mistake is that I am concentrating on listening and talking instead of writing at the moment, so it should have started off as わたしは. If that correction is made, is the rest correct for saying "I brewed beer." ?

Re: Learning from the shoutbox
OK, so looking at that, I misspelled ビール and forgot the -, used が instead of を, plus I messed up on the stress of the お in じょうぞう by writing じょぞ.
However, my dictionary shows that to brew is じょうぞうする, so how did you get じょうぞうしまして? Shouldn't it, after a little research, be じょうぞうすまして?

する is an irregular verb. The polite form is します, not すます or すります or するます. Also, the polite past form is しました (shimashita), not しまして (shimashite) - a form that exists, but is very rarely used.

*bows deep to richvh*
Cursed irregular verb. I missed the subtle た instead of て at the end, guess I filled in the spot with what I hear most.
With する being "to do" can じょうぞう be used on its own? Or is the する a requirement of the verb "to brew".

Without some form of する, じょうぞう is just a noun. As such, it can be used.

Wow!!! What a great idea. With any luck it may even catch on
Don't complain to me that people kick you when you're down. It's your own fault for lying there

But actually, can one brew beer legally at home in Japan? I remember when I was there, the laws were quite draconian about that.

Thanks, that makes much more sense than anything else I have read. Plus, since I worked at it hopefully it will sink in a little deeper
.
Chikara:
Yeah, I can take a hint, it just sometimes takes a few before I learn. See above
. That brings up an interesting question: Will the search feature work in hiragana and katakana?
Tony: I have absolutely no idea, obviously. What a dreaded thought, though. No microbrew? Oh the humanity!

It was actually meant as a compliment despite the sarcasm.
I wish more people would start a thread rather than try and hold discussions in the shout box.
