The verb ending "Don't want to"...

Post by Akuma » Thu 10.13.2005 1:35 am

Does anybody know how to modify a verb so that you can say "Don't want to" ? As in "I don't want to run" or "I don't want to eat."

I know the verb endings for want the negative tense, but I don't know how to combine them. Help is appreciated B).

走りたくない、食べたくない

masu-stem + tai is to want. take away the i and add ku nai for the negative form.

the important thing to remember here is that the 〜たい form of a verb behaves like a so-called い-adjective - heck, perhaps it even is an い-adjective - so you'll conjugate it like any other い-adjective.
