What's a good place to buy anime in the US?
Ok, so let's start this by saying I know very little about anime. The other day, there was a film on HBO or something called "Grave of the Fireflies." So I watched it; and oh man, I cried, cried, cried. I have no idea why I liked something that made me cry so much, but now I want to buy it. The thing is, it's out of stock or on backorder everywhere I look (amazon, bestbuy, etc)! Can anyone tell me a good site to buy anime at a reasonable price? Are there other films I should check out?

Anyone who can watch Grave of the Fireflies without crying is simply not human.
I have seen the strongest, most manly Judo players break down like a baby when watching that movie.
Just thinking about it makes me weepy.

I know. I never cry when watching movies. Not even Bambi or The Notebook can get a tear out of me. But, I was telling my mom the plot of Grave of the Fireflies and I started to cry a little bit. She was all like "What? Why are you crying?" She refuses to watch it because it's animated, but I'll get her to watch it one day.

I don't like sad stories so that's one that I've avoided for years.

Exactly! That's one movie that will make me tear up just from thinking about it, let alone watcing it.

It's really good, though. Grave of the Fireflies is just a good film; I don't usually like anime, but I liked it. I'm sure everyone has told you that you should just watch it anyway, so I won't, but you know...

Long story short, I didn't order the DVD from that link because a friend of mine said never to trust that site. I guess she had a bad experience, but she has bad experiences with almost every online retailer. It must be her.

animecornerstore.com and rightstuf.com both are good sites with huge selections and great customer service.
amazon.com has grave of the fireflies available. it's high-priced, as it is out of print. Another insanely sad anime is "Barefoot Gen."
