Don't complain to me that people kick you when you're down. It's your own fault for lying there

I think maybe Chikara was talking about you not understanding emoticons, because I'm certainly not computer illiterate... being a computer science student and all. *confused*

Rather than obsessing over what percentage of your potential audience has appropriate fonts installed, why not provide a link to a server that will do the image replacement for you? LIke this one?

He's not obsessing. He's gathering data for his class...
Too bad he feels attacked here. I guess Flash was just an A-bomb word for this thread... I'm sorry...

tis a shame he feels attacked, but I've found that people who are very vocally against something will often get into arguments with other very vocal people.
[Hmm.. For some reason I had phrased that much better before I hit the reply button, but now it just sounds all wonky. Ah well]
Like all technologies, there is a time and a place for flash. People who decry flash as the bane of the internet are (in my experience) either college students or professors. Or are trapped in 1995.

Do you see obsession where I don't? He just put up a poll and responded to comments.

Be careful with deduction, it's only a heart beat away from assumption.. and charging for assumptions is bad practice.

Re: IMPORTANT: Do you have Japanese fonts installed?
Like Sairana said, I am literally just gathering data for my project so that I can pass the damn degree! All decisions have to be justified, even the insignificant ones. This decision is pretty much insignificant, but I thought I'd add in a justification so that I don't miss out on any potential marks and I decided to come here and do it properly instead of making it up (which I could very well have done). My project is actually on natural language processing, formal grammar implementation and parsing - it has very, very little to do with web design/development, or even Japanese for that matter.
Richvh - my project will probably never see another Japanese student in it's entire lifespan (which is until April) so I am not looking for a solution. I am only looking for statistics. If I wanted a solution, I would've asked for a solution. I've said multiple times now, I already have a solution, should I need one. The only thing I need right now is statistics which is the only thing I asked for.
Thanks to everyone who has answered the poll.
Also, I'm a premenstrual female.
