Japanese text editor with furigana below
Hi
Is there any good japanese text editor where I can put furigana below of the word.
I know that office word 2007 I can put above, but I wanna below!

Re: Japanese text editor with furigana below
I don't think so. Furigana below the word is a nonstandard way to use furigana -- Kanji in Context is the only book I've ever seen that did that (I've never seen it in a Japanese publication).

Yufina - why do you want it below the kanji in the first place?

Because textbook like genki use furigana below kanji. I think it looks little better...

You probably could do it with LaTeX but I think it would require extensive research on the subject because LaTeX is quite serious language in itself.

下に手順を示します。
【下に振り仮名をつける。】
1.まず、通常通り、上に振り仮名をつけます。
2.振り仮名をつけたところを範囲選択します。
3.[Alt]+[F9]キーを押してフィールドコードを表示させます。
4.フィールドコードの「up」という部分を「do」に書き換えます。
5.フィールドコードを範囲選択します。
6.[Alt]+[F9]キーを押すと、ルビが単語の下に移動します。
以上です。

Garappachi--you are amazing. How did you figure that out?
I just tested his steps with Word 2007 and it works. I imagine it would be a pain to have to do many of these, but if you only have a few, it certainly works.

Just to help the next guy.If someone can translate that to english. It would be nice.
EDIT: already got it!
Thank you
1) Add furigana to the Japanese in Word (to learn how to do that see this article)
2) Highlight it
3) Hit Alt F9 and it should display code characters
4) Change 'up' to 'do' (but leave the rest of the code as is)
5) Highlight the word(s) again
6) hit Alt F9 again and it should display the word with furigana under it.

1) Hit Alt F9 and it should display code characters
2) Go replace. Find: "up" and Replace: "do"
3) Now replace all
4) Hit Alt F9
Now all furigana should be below

EDIT: If the furigana is too below. You can change number next to "up/do" (default is 13). I think 8 is good...
Replace thing works too. example: "up 13" and "do 8"
Re: Japanese text editor with furigana below
Oh I see. After adding regular furigana to a page, then hit 'Alt F9' and do a find replace all. That would save a good deal of time.Yufina wrote:

Re: Japanese text editor with furigana below
This will be useful when I'm able to get home, 'cause I can finally do this! Maybe then I need to figure out how to do this sideways, with the kana going down and to the left...

I support Heseig, got a problem with that? Good, 'cause I really don't care.

I'm sorry I need tasukete!!
the codes do NOT come up, i have word 2007, please help. please rephrase what you said step by step since I am not very familiar with the computer.
Also by doing this... will this make the hiragana (ie. under the kanji) bigger? because size is a problem as well.

but i still got a question...
Can we completley rely on the program to simplfy the Kanji for us using Furigana?
or do we need to edit a few things? I think this is too good to be true thats all...
for example, hanasemasu ka
Hana kanji is shown, but it does not have the hiragana on the top.
do we install something on top to make this the ultimate Furigana to use?
